Collaborating with social work professionals across the nation gives LumaQuest staff a clear and comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by social work practitioners and educators alike. Below are a few of the recent activities undertaken by our founder, Dr. Desrosiers, LCSW.
2026 CSWE Commission on Educational Policy - Environmental Scan
Since 2021, Dr. Desrosiers has been a commissioner on COEP, a group that is pivotal in development of educational policy. A COEP Task Force recently developed a report on Technology and Social Work Education. COEP is currently working on an Environmental Scan to inform development of EPAS 2029. Dr. Desrosiers is the chair of the ADEI subgroup currently working on the Environmental Scan which should be available this year.
Leading Through Disaster Panel, CSWE APM 2025
In October 2025, Dr. Desrosiers presented information about leadership duringdisaster based upon her leadership of the WKU social work department in 2021 during an EF-4 tornado event that devastated Bowling Green, KY and several other communities across the country. Panel moderator: Dr. Tom Felke. Other panelists: Dr. Mark Trahan, Dr. Patricia Findley, and Dr. Poco Kernsmith.
Social Work Cross Profession Minimum Data Set (SWCPMDS)
In 2025, Dr. Desrosiers participated in a task force to develop the SWCPMDS, a practical consensus-based tool to advance social work workforce data collection by providing a standardized tool social work boards may implement across the US and Canada to allow comparative, nationwide or multistate analysis of the licensed social work workforce. This project was hosted by ASWB and funded by the Health Resources and Research Institute (HRRI). Veritas Health Solutions served as facilitators and researchers assisting in the preparation of this tool.
2025 Alignment Study Workshop
Dr. Desrosiers provided subject matter expertise in a study to examine the alignment between the Masters exam’s applied knowledge statements used by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) to determine exam items and the Council on Social Work Education's (CSWE’s) Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS, 2022).
